Anton Clifford
Anton joined ExploraMed, Inc., in March 2006. He brings over 8 years of medical device design and development experience, primarily in the cardiovascular arena. Prior to joining Exploramed, Inc. Anton was with Abbott Vascular Devices as the Director of R&D for their coronary technology group. There he initiated and directed the development of next generation coronary stent R&D including the commercialization of their polymer coated system and clinical investigations on their drug eluting systems.

Prior to joining Abbott Vascular Devices, Anton was a technical leader with MedNova inc, where he lead the design, development and regulatory approvals for a novel self expanding carotid stent system. Anton also worked with CR Bard’s cardiovascular group where he worked on balloon angioplasty catheters and coronary stent development.

Anton is a graduate of the University of Limerick, Ireland, and completed his PhD there studying “The Influence of Fluorine Content in Apatite Mullite Glass-Ceramics for Biomedical Applications”. To date, Anton is an inventor on over 11 published patents and has authored scientific publications in the field of vascular devices.
